All About Our Library
Students at Cypress participate in many reading programs and activities throughout the year. This year, Cypress Library is hosting a Spirit Week, an eBook fair, Book Battle competition, and has already welcomed volunteer readers to celebrate Read Across America.
Read Across America is a wonderful week during which schools encourage students to explore and enjoy a variety of book genres. For daily classes, Ms. Sydney has prepared a Book Scavenger Hunt and organized a fun activity of making and decorating bookmarks. Cypress Library is proud to participate in Read Across America and to promote a love of reading among both staff and students.
Students engage in monthly activities or projects that center around different heritages, holidays, special events and important historical figures.
Cypress students also participate in the Accelerated Reader Program. This program allows students to grow and improve reading skills while reading their favorite books!
Laptops
Ms. Sidney handles all distribution and exchange of student laptops. She is able to help students with many everyday laptop issues such as resetting passwords or helping them contact our Help Desk for more complicated issues.
Ms. Sydney is the Cypress Elementary School Librarian. She has a degree in English from San Diego State University and has worked with a few poetry publications as an editor. Her love of Disney and Spider-Man is rivalled only by her love of books. She is always happy to share her passion for reading and writing with all students.
